Research reveals ratings for insurance company customer satisfaction

Best Insurance CompanyThe results of a new national study by Insure.com has revealed how satisfied customers feel with the coverage and service they are receiving from some of the largest home, health, auto, and life insurers in the country.

The company simultaneously released a new tool called Best Insurance Companies, which gives consumers the ability to compare their own insurer with the satisfaction levels achieved by other major insurance companies. Consumers can discover the satisfaction ratings in five different categories:

• Value for cost of premiums
• Customer service
• Percentage of individuals who would recommend their insurer
• Percentage of individuals who intend to renew their policies
• Claims experience

According to the editorial director for Insure.com, Amy Danise, the combination of the study and the online tool provides consumers with an “in-depth resource” when they are reviewing their coverage options. She added that “Our analysis lets consumers gain valuable insight into how the major companies are performing on five important levels of customer satisfaction.”

The People’s Choice Award at Insure.com was given to the top three insurance companies in each coverage sector. They were as follows:

The best insurers for health coverage:

• Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey
• Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois
• Kaiser Permanente

The best insurers for homeowners’ coverage:

• Amica Mutual
• USAA
• Chubb

The best insurers for automobile coverage:

• Auto-Owners Insurance
• USAA
• The Hartford

The best insurers for life coverage:

• TIAA-CREF
• Ameriprise Financial
• Transamerica
