The celebrity’s auto insurance is expected to cover part of the payment for the fatal car crash from 2015.
The Caitlyn Jenner crash that resulted in a fatality in New Zealand in 2015 now requires the celebrity to pay out NZ $1 million (about US $800,000). The settlement surrounding the car accident was expected to come with a hefty payment.
The massive settlement was reached following a fatal car crash two years ago on the Pacific Coast Highway.
The Caitlyn Jenner crash occurred when she rear-ended a vehicle in traffic. Jenner’s vehicle struck a Hummer driven by Peter Wolf-Millesi. That second vehicle entered oncoming traffic and struck a Lexus. The driver of the Lexus was killed as a result of the accident. There were also several serious injuries among the other drivers and passengers involved in the crash started by Jenner.
Court documents revealed that Peter and Lea Wolf-Millesi are set to receive $100,000 each in the settlement. Lea Wolf-Millesi was a passenger in the Hummer, as were the couple’s two children. Each of the children – one of which was only four weeks old when the accident occurred – will receive $50,000 through this settlement.
Elga Maurer, 73 years old at the time of the accident – suffered a fractured neck in the crash and the settlement will pay her $500,000.

The Caitlyn Jenner crash settlement will be partly covered by her auto insurance but will also involve other fees.
Indeed, some of the settlement payments will be covered by the celebrity’s auto insurance policy, but the rest is expected to be paid out of pocket by Jenner. The “I am Cait” star will also face significant attorney’s fees, which have been estimated to be around $250,000.
These are not the first expenses Jenner has paid as a result of this crash. She had already sent money to the Lexus driver’s stepchildren in addition to funds she sent to the driver of a Prius that Jenner’s vehicle also struck at the time of the accident.
The Caitlyn Jenner crash occurred in early 2015 and in September, the star spoke about it briefly, saying she didn’t remember much about the tragic event. “I remember it very little, I remember it happening and that’s about it … A tragedy like this, you’ll never get over it. You just learn to live with it the best you possibly can … I was under the speed limit, I was going 46 in a 50 – my air bag didn’t even go off,” she explained in an interview at the time.
