Some cabs in Harrisburg have now had their service suspended when they suddenly lost coverage. Pennsylvania commuters and tourists might find it just a little bit harder to get a cab, over the next while, as the operations of sixty six taxi and limo services were suspended by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) when their insurance company could no longer provide coverage. Taxi driver disability insurance lacking among many New York fleets

Despite the fact that the coverage is required, many companies have not been complying with that rule. According to the New York Workers’ Compensation Board, the law in the state says that taxi driver disability insurance coverage must be provided to fleets for employees who suffer injuries while off duty, or illnesses. The city is now accelerating their demands that the taxi company meet the regulations. Following the discovery that Yellow Cab had not actually been following the Dallas auto insurance rules for taxi companies, a spokesperson for the city has announced that they are expediting the process to ensure that this business complies with the regulations for operation.
