The insurer said the agreement spotlights the company’s commitment to student athletes

GEICO and the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) recently announced that the insurer would be the NCAA’s official home and auto insurance partner.

The partnership involves all the NCAA’s men’s and women’s championships

The broad partnership includes all 90 of the NCAA women’s and men’s championships, demonstrating the auto insurance company’s commitment to college sports and student athletes.

“We are thrilled to welcome GEICO back to the NCAA Corporate Champion and Partner Program,” said NCAA senior vice president of basketball Dan Gavitt. He went on to say that the insurer is committed to its support of the athletes and championships through the NCAA while “engaging creatively” with the fans of those sports and athletes, as it “elevates” the experience of the games.

The home and auto insurance company will have exclusive rights

Through the agreement between GEICO and the NCAA, the insurer will hold exclusive rights in the categories of a number of products GEICO offers.  It will all begin during the men’s and women’s March Madness basketball tournaments.

GEICO vice president of marketing Kate Jalkut said that the home and auto insurance company’s partnership with the NCAA acts as an affirmation of their commitment to promoting different levels of sports. She added that the company is looking forward to drawing attention to their coverage products and services.

Providing student athletes with support

Devron Edwards, CBS Sports vice president of NCAA partnerships, expressed their excitement to have the insurer back as a corporate partner at the NCAA, as it had previously held this role. He added that they are looking forward to working with them to support the student athletes participating in all the NCAA championships.

According to Warner Brothers Discovery executive vice president of ad sales Jon Diament, the corporate partners of the NCAA play a vital role in the March Madness success, encouraging connections for both student athletes and the championship audiences throughout the length of the tournament. He added that they are also excited about the return of the insurer and that they are keen to develop further collaboration.
