New technology can prevent collisions at low speeds

A recent study funded by the auto insurance industry has shown that new technology installed into vehicles can make a significant difference in helping to prevent rear-end collisions and fender benders that occur at slow speeds such as in traffic jams. Insurance study shows red light cameras are saving lives

 The findings by the institute, which is a nonprofit group funded by the insurance industry, states that in 14 of the largest cities in America, 159 lives were saved during the time-frame of 2004 to 2008 due to red-light cameras.  The design of the camera is to capture motor vehicles that are running red lights.
