Tuesday marked the beginning of debates in Nebraska regarding a bill that would ban private insurers from cover the cost of abortions unless customers purchased a separate policy. One of the provisions of the bill would limit insurance coverage of abortions that would have been covered from policies offered by insurance exchange programs. New bill for Florida could mean higher property premiums

Lawmakers in Florida are looking to create new restrictions on policyholders who submit property insurance claims. A bill, known as SB 408, contains more than 20 provisions that could enable insurers to raise premiums for homeowners in residences close to the coast as well as inhibit damage claims in an effort to combat fraud.
