New report shows that states are making progress on health insurance exchanges

A new report from the White House has released a new report on the progress of health insurance exchanges in the U.S. The report shows that 28 states, as well as the District of Columbia, are making major strides in establishing their own exchanges. Throughout the U.S., progress on setting up health insurance exchanges is accelerating. As of December, 2011, 13 states had fully functional exchange programs. Several other states have legislations pending that would allow for the building of the exchanges. While many states oppose the overarching Affordable Care Act, only Arkansas and Louisiana have chosen not to build insurance exchanges of any kind. D.C. court upholds the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act

 If there was ever any doubt that the Affordable Care Act would make it to the Supreme Court, a new ruling from a federal appeals court in the District of Columbia may have made it a sure thing.
