AIR Estimates Insured Losses from Last Week’s European Windstorm Christian at Between EUR 1.5 Billion and EUR 2.3 Billion

BOSTON, Nov. 7, 2013 – Catastrophe modeling firm AIR Worldwide estimates that  insured losses from Windstorm Christian (known as St. Jude in the UK) will range  between EUR 1.5 billion and EUR 2.3 billion, with the majority of insured losses  occurring in Denmark and Germany. According to catastrophe modeling firm AIR Worldwide, Windstorm “Christian” smashed into southern Britain Monday, October 28, knocking  over trees, flooding lowlands, and disrupting land, sea, and air travel. According to catastrophe modeling firm AIR Worldwide, Windstorm Dagmar has moved across Russia north of St. Petersburg and begun to dissipate, its hurricane-force winds having caused power outages, tree- downings, and landslides and other disruption across northern Scandinavia on Christmas Day and the early hours of yesterday, December 27th.
