Cigna has been awarded the coveted Best Group International Private Medical Insurance Provider title.
The results of the 2012 Health Insurance Awards are in, and the announcements have now been made at the Grosvenor Hotel in London, England, where Cigna has now been named the top provider.
The titles for the annual medical and protection event were presented by Ed Byrne, renowned Irish comedian.
The health insurance awards are designed to honor professionalism and excellence within that sector of the industry. According to the Cigna Global Health Benefits, Europe, director of sales and client management, John Kaye, “This award pays testament to the skills and passion of Cigna employees who work relentlessly to ensure our customers remain at the heart of everything we do.”
Cigna was recognized for outstanding health insurance products and service worldwide.
Kaye went on to say that “The award also acknowledges Cigna’s commitment to both the international and domestic health care markets, inspiring us to continue to improve and build our service proposition to meet our customers’ health care needs worldwide.”
The health insurance company currently serves customers around the world through a mobile workforce. At the moment, it serves more than 205 countries, in which it has more than 880,000 total customers. The award was meant to specifically recognize the insurer for the standard of innovation that it has maintained, as well as the focus that it holds on its customers in terms of the way that it provides its corporate international healthcare.
Beyond that top title, the insurer had also been on the short list for the Best Dental Award title, and was the sponsor for two additional central intermediary awards, which are the Health Care Intermediary of the Year Awards, and the Best International Individual Intermediary.
President of Cigna Global Health Benefits, Andrew Kielty stated that he feels great pride for the company’s European team for achieving this award. He feels that as this recognition is particularly rewarding as it comes through the nomination of key intermediaries within the health insurance and healthcare industry. To achieve this title means that the industry as a whole has noted the exceptional effort that the company has been making.
