USAA has announced that it is expanding the availability of SafePilot in its auto insurance app. As a result, drivers in an additional seven states will be able to access the telematics feature.

The USAA SafePilot telematics feature uses technology to reward policyholders with safe driving habits through discounts to their premiums. Members enrolling in the program, which is entirely voluntary, are now eligible to discounts on their policy premiums that are as high as 10 percent. From there, they can continue to enjoy greater discounts of up to 30 percent as the telematics collect and reflect their safe driving behaviors over time.
