Auto insurance news looks good for SUV owners after crash testing

2014 midsize models were able to receive the top ratings from an industry group’s tests. Though the midsize SUVs that underwent auto insurance industry group crash testing didn’t do well as a whole, two out of the nine models managed to receive the highest ratings. The GMC Terrain and the Chevrolet Equinox, both General Motors products, received the best “good” rating. Many are wondering why a certain type of crash test earns low stars for newer vehicles. In recent tests that are often considered by auto insurance companies in order to calculate premiums, only three out of eleven midsized luxury cars have earned a passing grade.
