In April the North Carolina Senate passed a bill to loosen restrictions on adult ATV riders. The bill was then sent to Governor Beverly Perdue to be signed into law. Governor Perdue had serious concerns about the damaging effects it would have on overall public safety. She chose not to sign the bill as a representation of her concern. New ATV helmet law more lenient than most
Lawmaker’s in the North Carolina Senate debated passing a law, which some officials say, will lead to more serious accidents. The law would exempt adults from mandatory helmet requirements and eye protection when riding ATV’s on private property. Almost six years ago the law was passed that made helmets and eye protection mandatory for ATV riders.
