Progressive Insurance has announced that it has expanded its mobile commerce offerings to consumers by adding the ability to use a smartphone or tablet in order to receive quotes for the coverage of motorcycles, RV’s boats, and other recreational and powersports vehicles.
Progressive Insurance is already the leading motorcycle insurance company in the United States, and is also the top boat and RV insurer. Clearly, it saw the benefit in expanding its current mobile quote optimization to include this group of vehicles as well as more traditional cars, SUVs, pickups, vans, etc.
According to the Progressive recreational products general manager, Pat Callahan “Our goal is to give people who own boats, RVs and motorcycles another option when they shop for insurance.” The insurer is already aware of the fact that those who take part in activities that include these vehicles are regularly on the move.
Therefore, in an effort to better serve them, they have added the ability to use a smartphone – an increasingly common device – in order to receive quotes and buy policies for their additional vehicles no matter where they may be at the time.
The mobile quoting and purchasing services are available to consumers through the Progressive website, which can be accessed through their mobile devices. All they need to do is use the site in the same way that they would if they were seeking auto insurance. It is now available to consumers in every state served by Progressive.
These additional mobile abilities follow the original mobile quoting service at Progressive, which first became available for car insurance in November 2010.
