It is National Pet Health Insurance Month in the United States and in order to recognize it and bring awareness to it, Pets Best Insurance is holding a “Freaky Friday” contest which will honor the pet emergency or pet accident stories that are the “freakiest”.
Pets Best Insurance was founded by Dr. Jack Stephens, an expert in the industry and the founder of American pet health insurance.
A winner will be selected for every week throughout the month and will receives a gift certificate worth $50 of product from the Animal Rescue Site store. This website offers everything from pet supplies to home décor, clothing, and jewelry.
Participants don’t need to make a purchase in order to enter into the contest, nor are they required to be a policyholder with Pets Best Insurance. Instead, participation involves submitting an unusual pet story, such as a dog eating something it shouldn’t have, or a cat climbing into a place where it didn’t belong.
Stories should be posted on the Facebook page for Pets Best Insurance, at http://www.facebook.com/petsbestinsurance. The winners are announced every Friday on that page.
So far, winners have included Michelle, whose dog slammed into a tree; Leslie, whose dog named Rogue hyper extended both of its wrists when it fell out a window; and Gretchen, whose dog named Sammy attempted to mount another dog and ended up with a broken “private part”.
Veterinary services cost American pet owners more than $25 billion per year, according to data from Packaged Facts. They also showed that 53 percent of households in the United States own a pet.
