Trupanion is now making its way into Maine and Vermont.

The Trupanion pet insurance company has just announced that it will be broadening its reach into Maine and Vermont, starting immediately.

The insurer is the fastest growing animal coverage provider in the United States.

Trupanion is also the second largest pet insurance company in the country. Animal owners in the two new states are now able to use the online enrollment form for their cats and dogs at the official website for the insurer.

It is Trupanion’s goal to provide pet insurance in all 50 states.

It has been working on this purpose to receive a license across the entire country, since it first expanded into the U.S. from Canada in 2008. Now that Vermont and Maine have been added to its list, it is now licensed and active in 48 American states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and all of the Canadian provinces.

Trupanion’s chief executive officer, Darryl Rawlings, said that “Pet owners want to be able to give their pet the best treatment available, but sometimes the cost of that treatment is outside a family’s budget.” He added that “Pet insurance helps with this cost and puts those treatment options back on the table for pet owners.”

The insurer stands out from others in the same sector by operating on a basic value set that places the animal and its care at the highest priority. It offers lifetime coverage policies for cats and dogs, and has a reimbursement rate of 90 percent, with no limits to the amount of payout that can be received per individual claim, within a year, or over the animal’s lifetime. This is an extremely rare offering and is otherwise unavailable in many areas.

Trupanion pet insurance policies are also known for being easy to understand and use.

The pet insurance company’s website is designed to be a helpful and interesting care resource for animal owners, with information on topics ranging from medical conditions, to individual breeds, and even its new section about fire safety for animals. This includes instructions as well as an informative video.
