Pet insurance company announces top veterinarian contest finalists

My Vet's the Best contest

My Vet's the Best contest

Pets Best has opened up online voting for customers to make their choices.

The finalists for the My Vet’s the Best Contest have now been named by pet insurance company, Pets Best, after these animal doctors had been nominated by clients of the insurer for their exceptional care and service.

Finalists were recognized for going above and beyond for the care of the animals.

Among the veterinarians named within the top six by the pet insurance company are:

• Dr. Richard Chu, from San Francisco, CA, at Pets Unlimited
• Dr. Luminita Sarbu, from Renton, WA, at Veterinary Oncology Center
• Dr. Holly Brophy, from Mt. Zion, IL, at Bell Aire Pet Clinic
• Dr. Tony Poutous, from Virginia Beach, VA, at Pet Care Veterinary Hospital
• Dr. Kathy Joseph, from Vandalia, OH, at Vandalia Animal Clinic

These, and all of the other nominations received by the pet insurance provider for favorite veterinarians, were submitted by animal owners who received exceptional care. Within their nominations – which were submitted through a form on the official contest Facebook page – the owners explained why their veterinarian is exceptional.

Every quarter, an internal panel from the pet insurance company reviews the submissions and selects six finalists from within the list. Now, Pets Best has posted the six veterinarian names and the stories submitted by their clients, to open up voting for a month.

The voting is now open so that pet insurance policyholders can choose their favorites.

The pet owner whose story leads to the winning vet, will receive a cash prize of $200. The winning veterinarian, on the other hand, will receive $1,000 to go toward the treatment of animals of owners who can’t afford to pay for veterinary care.

Beyond these quarterly prizes, the pet insurance company also has an annual grand prize. The winner of this contest receives registration for two to the 2013 Western Veterinary Conference, as well as airfare and hotel accommodations. This is a top veterinary continuing education conference. Each of the quarterly winners has a one in four chance of winning this grand prize for their beloved veterinarians.
