Parent’s Supervised Driving Guide launched by Safe Roads Alliance, Safety Insurance, and the Mass RMV

Car insurance for teenagersTop home, auto, and commercial insurer in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, Safety Insurance, has announced that it is working with the nonprofit organization, Safe Roads Alliance, which works to promote driving safety, to offer The Parent’s Supervised Driving Guide with the support of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Registry of Motor Vehicles (Mass RMV).

Safety Insurance and Safe Roads Alliance have created the program in their combined effort to better the awareness and education of drivers in Massachusetts by offering a free resource to guardians and parents of the recipients of Massachusetts learner’s permits.

The Mass RMV said that new drivers have a risk of a car accident in which they will suffer injury that is 14 times greater than drivers in other groups. Guardians and parents of new drivers are encouraged to take advantage of the free resource and to become involved in the development of the driving skills of their teens, with the hope of building better driver safety overall.

According to the Mass RMV registrar, Rachel Kaprielian, parents are an essential part of making certain that their adolescents are able to build strong driving skills regardless of the traffic, weather, and roadway conditions. She went on to explain that “This partnership allows us to get this information into the hands of every parent.”

Safety Insurance vice president, George Murphy stated that twenty percent of teen drivers are involved in a car accident within the first year of their driving careers. Therefore, the priority of the insurer is to help to keep all drivers safer on the road.
