A recent government report praised the coverage expanded by the Affordable Care Act, but still shows concerns.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a report assessing Obamacare health insurance. Within the report, President Barack Obama was praised for having brought the number of uninsured Americans to a record low. However, it also cautioned of potentially stalling progress this year.

The report was based on a CDC study that said the Affordable Care Act may have maxed out its effectiveness.

The CDC warned that Obamacare health insurance may have reached its effectiveness limit. The reason is that the country is politically divided regarding the role the government should play in guaranteeing health care coverage.

The report showed that in 2015 and the first half of this year, the number of uninsured people dropped by only 200,000 across the country. The CDC referred to this progress as “a nonsignificant difference.” These findings were gleaned from the results of the National Health Interview Study. That research involved the participation of more than 48,000 respondents so far in 2016.

Since the launch of Obamacare health insurance law in 2014, millions have gained coverage.

They agree that the massive health care reform is primarily responsible for adding coverage to 20 million additional Americans since 2014. However, the concern is that the decline of the law’s progress has continued each year. This year, the growth rate has slowed dramatically.

The CDC’s research determined that there remained 28.6 Americans without health insurance during 2015. That figure aligned very closely with the first half of this year, in which there were 28.4 million uninsured Americans.

This report has been released at a time in which there is a considerable effort being made to boost consumer interest for the 2017 open enrollment window, which started last week and will continue through to the end of January. The goal at the White House is to finish Obama’s tenure with a positive direction for the Obamacare health insurance progress.
