Liberty Mutual Insurance has unveiled its new Benefits Select product line in an effort to better serve mid-sized businesses and the employee benefits consultants and brokers who work with them.
The Benefits Select group disability product suite is designed to be a cost-effective way for these employers to be able to offer more attractive passengers to current and potential employees so that they will experience better retention while still keeping an eye on the bottom line.
According to the chief operating officer at the group benefits unit of Liberty Mutual Insurance, Jean Scarrow, the purpose of this new product suite is to be able to offer affordable benefits to these companies, which are “backed by our exceptional customer service and claim management.”
Scarrow added that these products come with the same degree of case management as the customized products at the higher end of their offerings, also explaining that the suite provides companies with “solid group disability products, balanced with a standard plan design that allows a lower price point.”
There are two complementary group products featured within the Benefits Select suite. These are fully insured long-term disability, and short-term disability with only administrative services. When combined, this new offering provides:
• Alternate designs for plans
• Flexible options for funding
• Secure online tools for both employers and employees to file their new claims and manage existing ones
• Effective clerical management
Scarrow also noted that the design of Benefits Select provides benefits consultants and brokers with an improved opportunity to meet their clients’ needs.
