Android App for AAA Insurance launched

Mobile Commerce InsuranceAAA Insurance is now providing a free mobile app to Android-based smartphone users to provide them with a greater ability to obtain assistance from the scene of an accident.

This is only one of several free mobile applications being offered by AAA Insurance. A similar app for users of iPhones and iPads was already launched in May 2011, but the hope is that by expanding its availability to Android device users, as well, more motorists will benefit from assistance at the scene of a crash.

The app provides drivers with a step-by-step process for collecting the photographs and information after an accident has happened. It also gives them an additional way of requesting a tow truck.

The Wireless Product Strategy and Programs AAA National Managing Director, Jeff Green, “The information that needs to be collected following a collision can be overwhelming, even if all parties involved are uninjured.” The new app walks policyholders through the process for gathering the necessary information that will be required by the insurance company, and suggests photos that should be taken before leaving the scene.

Green added that now that the AAA Insurance app is available on Android-based and iOS-based devices, this tool will now be available to a much larger number of motorists.

Among the instructions that the app provides to drivers after an accident, are to gather the following types of information:

• Photos of damage, property, and the scene as a whole
• Documenting the people who were involved and the models of the vehicles
• Documenting the accident’s location
• Documenting the details of any police reports or witnesses
