Accident Insurance Co. seeks 100 new agents over 100 day period

Insurance JobsAccident Insurance Co. (AIC), based in South Carolina, has announced that it is currently seeking up to 100 new independent agents within a span of 100 days.

Starting on July 12 and running until October 12, the insurer will be seeking to add a sizeable number to its independent agents within eleven states that are among the eighteen in which it currently writes.  The states in which AIC is seeking new partner agencies are: Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, Indiana, Oklahoma, Arizona, Illinois, Georgia, Arkansas, Virginia and Indiana.

Chief marketing officer Jon Beckham, of AIC, stated that they predict that this year they will be writing approximately $70 million in business, and that they hope to join with several new agencies in order to establish the type of relationships that will be necessary for significant growth throughout 2012.

AIC currently writes commercial general liability and auto , as well as workers’ compensation for small and mid-sized organizations.  According to Beckham, they are seeking to bring in a “flow of activity” by adding a large number of “quality insurance agents”, diverting business that would otherwise head to the excess and surplus lines market.

Beckham is looking for independent agents who are already working with clients within the niches targeted by AIC, such as retail, construction, light manufacturing, wholesale, healthcare, and staffing.  AIC is also seeking agents who may currently be struggling to find the right product for their customers through the carriers they are currently representing.

AIC pays a 15 percent commission for commercial garage and auto, as well as a 9 percent commission for new and renewal workers’ compensation.
