390 new positions to open up in Tampa with Progressive car insurance

Insurance JobsProgressive car insurance has announced very welcome news to the unemployment-stricken state of Florida (where rates have recently risen to 9.9 percent) when they said that they will be helping to boost the economy in the Tampa Bay area by hiring 390 people in sales, claims, and service positions at the contact center in Riverview.

Aside from actually gaining a job in a difficult economy, there are many advantages being offered to employees of Progressive, including a casual dress code, bonuses for performance, fitness centers, and medical facilities located on-site for both workers and their families. This makes Progressive a highly desirable employer in the region.

According to the Progressive recruiting director, Katie Koch, the insurer is always seeking to find new ways to make it easier for their workers to succeed and grow. She explained that with this insurance company, “employees enjoy the flexibility to balance the demands of home and work. By putting our people first, we attract the best and brightest people around.”

The phone representative positions being posted will be responsible for answering customer questions, selling policies, and assisting policyholders when they need to file claims. They do require some previous work experience within a customer service atmosphere.

The St. Petersburg Times has called Progressive one of the best places for Tampa Bay residents to work. Employees receive paid training for all positions, and receive medical, vision, dental as well as life insurance benefits, in addition to:

• Yoga, spinning, and aerobics classes
• On-site massage and health services
• On-site cafeteria with an affordable, healthy, and convenient food selection
• Quiet rooms for meditation and relaxation
• A contemporary art collection that is world renowned
• Tuition assistance
• Parenting resources, such as maternity services and subsidized child care
• Potential for performance bonuses.
